Everything about Windows 8 OS & Download Windows 8 Consumer Preview Reviews......!!

It’s been almost two years since Microsoft launched the Windows 7 operating system and over time, it has proved itself to be one of the best and most stable operating systems ever created. And now with Windows 8, there isn’t a least shred of doubt that Microsoft is
aiming not only for a repeat performance but to also change how we interact with our PCs.

Of course, there’d be a couple of things that you might want to know before installing this new software on your computer. Windows 8 support provides you some essential details about this operating system’s compatibility, its new fluid Metro Interface and booting capabilities.

Windows 8 support information on Compatibility

Windows 8 support informs us that even though the user interface of Windows 8 has been redesigned, Microsoft has actually ensured that it includes full backwards compatibility. This will help in all the existing applications to work efficiently and even the upgrade from Windows 7 to 8 quite seamless. Windows 8 support also informs us that all the existing hardware and peripherals that are used in Windows 7 will go hand in hand with Windows 8, without compatibility issues or any additional drivers.
But Microsoft say about a minimum hardware requited to windows 8.

Microsoft recommends:

1 GHz or faster processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Windows 8 support information on the fluid new Metro Interface

According to the Windows 8 support information released, Windows 8 OS comes in with a new “Metro” interface that has a tile layout similar to the one used in Windows Phone 7. Windows 8 support informs us that this OS is optimized for touch, though you can also use a mouse or a keyboard at your ease. You can also navigate using swipe gestures while most apps run in full-screen mode by default.

Windows 8 support information on Boot performance in Windows 8

Windows 8 support informs us that the boot and shutdown times in Windows 8 are optimized. Instead of shutting down the entire system, it will hibernate a few elements. On turning your PC back on, these elements are resumed, thereby reducing the boot time.
